Yesterday I was lucky enough to give a talk to 200 very enthusiastic and attentive key stage 2 (age 7-11) pupils at Granard Primary School in Putney about Antarctic meteorology and climate change. It’s always a hugely fun experience talking to kids because they remind you exactly why you do research – because Antarctic science is SUPER COOL!
I always come away from these sorts of talks inspired by the energy and potential of all these budding scientists, unbelievably impressed by the intelligent questions I get asked and completely blown away by how much things have changed since I was their age. I got an amazing description of climate change from an eight-year-old, which I probably wouldn’t have been capable of until twice her age.
These kids are going to change the world!
